ISGL Partnership Links Football and Esports Ecosystems
Chennaiyin FC COO, Akhil Prakash, said, "We are delighted to welcome the Indian Super Gaming League (IGSL) as the principal sponsor of Chennaiyin FC for the ISL 2026 season.” He added that the partnership aligns with the club’s young fan base and seeks to strengthen engagement between football and gaming audiences.
Chennaiyin FC remains an established presence in Indian football and has played a role in developing domestic talent.
ISGL, positioned as India’s first franchise-based esports league, operates as a merit-driven national league focused on identifying and elevating gaming talent. Its format integrates competitive play with creators, music, live audiences, and fan participation. The structure reflects how younger audiences engage with sport and entertainment across physical and digital platforms.
Gautam Badalia, Co-Founder of LetsGameNow, ISGL’s parent organization, said the partnership aligns with ISGL’s objective of building structured pathways for emerging talent.
The branding will debut when Chennaiyin FC opens its 2026 season against Mumbai City FC, beginning a run of four consecutive away matches. The club will return to the Marina Arena on March 13, 2026, to face Mohammedan.
