Highlights

  • Genshin Impact is adding "Miliastra Wonderland," a creative mode for players to build and share games.
  • Players will use new custom avatars with a separate cosmetic system, not their gacha characters.
  • Monetization and safety controls for the new user-generated content are still unconfirmed.

Players will create their own games and avatars in the massive new mode, launching next week.

Genshin Impact is about to become a completely different game for many players. HoYoverse has officially announced that its ambitious, Roblox-style creative mode, "Miliastra Wonderland", will go live on October 22, 2025, as part of the upcoming Version 6.1 "Luna II" update.

This User-Generated Content (UGC) mode will provide players with a powerful toolset to build, share, and play custom games within the Genshin Impact engine.

The creator mode arrives in Update 6.1.

In a major departure from the core game, players will not use their gacha-rolled characters in Miliastra Wonderland. Instead, everyone will create and customise their own unique avatar. New outfits and cosmetic items for these avatars will be unlocked through crafting and a dedicated battle pass system separate from the main game.

This new experience is built around a central social hub called the "Wonderland Lobby", where players can gather and interact. This hub will feature seasonal decorations, starting with a Halloween theme for the launch.

The main attraction is the endless catalogue of player-made games. Developers have revealed that the mode will support an extensive range of genres, effectively turning Genshin Impact into a game-creation platform. The confirmed possibilities include everything from first-person shooters, roguelikes, and survival challenges to puzzle platformers, management sims, and even sports games.

To access Miliastra Wonderland, players will need to complete the early-game Archon Quest, "The Outlander Who Caught the Wind", making it accessible to a wide audience.

Creators will be given a robust in-game editor, allowing them to place and resize familiar objects from Teyvat, customise character skills for their specific game, and establish their own rules. They can even integrate features like custom achievements and leaderboards.

However, the excitement is tempered by community concerns regarding monetisation. It remains unclear if building assets will be locked behind Primogem transactions or a separate gacha mechanic.

HoYoverse has not yet disclosed full details on these systems or what privacy and parental controls will be available for the user-generated content hub.
