A new initiative, India Games Showcase, has opened submissions for its first digital event aimed at promoting games developed in India. The event is divided into two segments, India Games Showcase 2026 and India Games Showcase Steam Event 2026.
The India Games Showcase will be a part of the 2026 Summer Game Fest’s (SGF) week. SGF is scheduled to take place between June 5 and 9, in Los Angeles, whereas the India Games Showcase Steam Event 2026 is an online event slated for June.
Organizers confirmed that entries are now being accepted from developers and studios across the country, with a submission deadline of April 10, 2026. Developers must apply through a registration form that requests information about the studio or team, details of the game being submitted, and supporting material such as gameplay footage.
The initiative positions itself as a platform to highlight upcoming projects and announcements from Indian game creators. According to the official announcement, the showcase wouldn’t require exclusive content. However, the provided content should be unique to the India Games Showcase to avoid repetition.
Programming and the Team Behind India Games Showcase 2026
The India Games Showcase is positioned to resemble international indie-focused showcase formats, featuring gameplay reveals, trailers, and developer updates. Selected projects will be presented at SGF 2026, while all verified submissions are eligible for the Steam Event in June.
The organizers will contact selected candidates by April 20. The initiative involves a team of industry contributors that includes Avichal Singh, Vijay Sinha, Mangesh Thombare, Chinmay Bhosekar, Indrani Ganguli, and Anirudh Singh Shekhawat.
The announcement comes as India’s domestic game development ecosystem aims to expand into international publishing and distribution opportunities, particularly in the PC and console segments. Organizers said the showcase aims to “celebrate, support and amplify games made by Indian game developers.”
