SEGA Brings Yakuza Kiwami 3 & Dark Ties Launch Event

SEGA will host a Yakuza Kiwami 3 & Dark Ties launch event in Kuala Lumpur, on Feb 12, 2026, marking one of the franchise’s most visible on-ground activations in Southeast Asia to date. The event is reportedly SEGA’s first official celebratory event for the upcoming remake of Yakuza 3.

Scheduled to take place in Malaysia’s capital, Kuala Lumpur, the event is positioned as a fan-facing showcase but also reflects SEGA’s broader regional strategy, as Japanese publishers increasingly invest in localized marketing across Southeast Asia’s fast-growing markets.

The Yakuza series, now branded globally as Like a Dragon, has seen renewed commercial momentum in recent years, driven by remakes such as Kiwami and Kiwami 2, as well as strong international sales for newer entries. The launch event will include guest appearances of prominent people from the production team and many fan-focused activities, apart from the live on-stage game demo.

The Yakuza Kiwami 3 & Dark Ties Launch Event Highlights

According to SEGA’s event details, the Yakuza Kiwami 3 & Dark Ties Launch Event will feature exclusive merchandise giveaways, mini-games, and limited-edition “event-original freebies” available only to attendees. These include franchise-branded items, including a logo keychain, sticker pack, and a specially designed T-shirt.

The game showcase will feature key gameplay moments and new features added to the game. Attendees can participate in a trivia session, a karaoke-based mini-game, inspired by the entertainment scenes of the game. However, the main highlight of the event would be a lucky draw among participants, and winners will get free merchandise collectibles.

After the main event, there will be an autograph session with Ryosuke Horii, Producer and Director of Yakuza Kiwami 3 & Dark Ties. The event is promoted as a closed-door event, and as per the report, the exact venue of the Yakuza Kiwami 3 & Dark Ties launch will only be shared with participants.

As of now, the start time is scheduled at 6:00 pm MYT, with the autograph session starting from 8:00 pm MYT (timings are subject to change). Fans who are willing to attend can submit an official application form by Jan 16, 2026.
