Valve has unveiled a limited-time Dota 2 x Monster Hunter crossover event, merging Capcom’s iconic monster-slaying gameplay with Dota’s strategic combat. The event, running until Feb. 6, 2026, introduces a new “hunt and craft” system, themed hero sets, pets, and exclusive cosmetic rewards for all players.

New Hunt-and-Craft System, six Hero Sets, and Free Rewards

Players can now take on special hunts to gather crafting materials that unlock Monster Hunter-inspired hero sets, including Dragon Knight as Rathalos, Beastmaster in Bone Armor, and Windranger in Zinogre gear.

Each hero set offers three alternate versions, while a Palico courier and Poogie pet bring familiar companions from Capcom’s series into the Dota world.

Materials are earned by completing matches, with drop rates depending on rarity. Players can track their progress and lore updates through a new Hero Atlas, which details hunt objectives and hero dispatches from across the realms.

Expedition Pack Expands Rewards with Monsters and Music

For players seeking premium content, the Expedition Pack is available for $15 USD. It adds playable Rathalos and Bullfango companions, a Monster Hunter music pack, seasonal sprays, and bonus crafting materials. Pack owners can also craft exclusive hero variants and Immortal effects, offering a more complete Monster Hunter experience inside Dota 2.

The crossover marks Dota 2’s first major in-game event since Crownfall, highlighting Valve’s renewed focus on player-driven content. It stands as one of the most ambitious collaborations in Dota’s history, blending two legendary franchises through a shared love of combat, collection, and teamwork.
