Bloodborne Heads to the Big Screen

Bloodborne is one of the most popular soulslike games ever made, selling over an estimated 9.3M copies despite being a PlayStation exclusive and not releasing on other platforms. Jacksepticeye confirmed via a Reddit post that he is producing the project and is excited to finally talk about it.

The YouTuber revealed in his post, “I am going to do everything in my power to make this the BEST Bloodborne adaptation possible. Not only is it my favorite game ever made but I know how truly passionate the fans of this game are and how much hunger they have for more of it. I can’t share much about the project right now but man does it feel good to let you all know it’s happening.”

The involvement of a popular content creator like Jacksepticeye adds an interesting layer to the upcoming animated film. We recently saw Mark Edward Fischbach, aka Markiplier, earn praise for making Iron Lung, another video game adaptation. Jacksepticeye has been in the YouTube space since 2012 and has made gaming content throughout his online career.

Lyrical Animation is Working on Multiple Sony Films

Bloodborne’s animated adaptation is not the only project Lyrical Animation is working on. The Line Mileage team, which was working on an anime feature adaptation of Sony’s Death Stranding, was acquired by Lyrical Media. The team is now known as Lyrical Animation and has multiple projects in the pipeline.

It is also working on Hell Followed With Us, in partnership with director, producer, and writer Lilly Wachowski from The Matrix Trilogy. Lyrical’s team has professionals who have worked on shows like SpongeBob SquarePants, Castlevania, and Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft.

More information about Bloodborne’s animated adaptation will be available as we approach its release date. Fans will be eagerly waiting to see if Lyrical can bring the gothic horror, violence, and psychological storytelling from the game to the big screen faithfully.
