Black Clover Manga Ends at Chapter 392 After 11 Years
Yuki Tabata's shonen staple closes with a three-chapter finale on May 1, as the franchise pivots to an anime return in October
Highlights
- Black Clover concludes at Chapter 392 with a three-chapter finale in the Jump GIGA Spring 2026 issue.
- The final arc shifts focus to Asta vs. Yuno, resolving the long-standing Wizard King rivalry between the two central characters.
- A new anime season resumes the manga adaptation on Crunchyroll in October 2026, picking up from where the original series ended in March 2021.
Yuki Tabata's Black Clover is concluding with chapter 392, with its final three chapters releasing on May 1 in the Spring 2026 issue of Shueisha's Jump GIGA magazine. Shueisha confirmed the news on April 27 during its Jump Press 2026 broadcast, ending a manga run that began in Weekly Shonen Jump on February 16, 2015.
Black Clover has grown into one of Shueisha's defining shonen properties of the past decade, with manga, anime, a film, and game adaptations to its name. The manga ran weekly until August 21, 2023, when Tabata moved it to the quarterly Jump GIGA to give himself a more sustainable schedule for the final arc.
The Spring 2026 issue carries Asta on its cover, indicating Shueisha is treating the finale as a major publishing event. The conclusion arrives as the publisher's other 2010s flagships, including My Hero Academia, Demon Slayer, and Jujutsu Kaisen, have wrapped or are nearing the end of serialization.
Black Clover chapter 392 will bring closure
Shueisha had labeled the Winter 2026 GIGA chapters a "Super Climax." The Spring 2026 release is being positioned as the "Serialization Climax," shifting the focus from battles to the long-anticipated question of whether Asta or Yuno will be crowned the next Wizard King.
In the Winter 2026 Jump GIGA edition, the prolonged battle against Lucius Zogratis, the manga's primary antagonist, ended with the previous Wizard King Julius Novachrono dying after using his Time Magic to restore the Clover Kingdom in his final act. Across chapters 387–389, both Asta and Yuno reached the peak of their abilities, with Asta uniting with his Anti-Magic power and Yuno fully bonding with his Wind Spirit power.
While the identity of the next Wizard King remains unconfirmed, the Jump GIGA Spring cover features Asta dressed in Wizard King regalia, fueling speculation that he wins the long-running competition with Yuno.
The final issue will also feature an interview with Tabata and Gakuto Kajiwara, Asta's voice actor in Pierrot's anime adaptation. The finale's release timing aligns with the anime's return later this year.
With 24.5 million copies in circulation across 37 volumes, Black Clover manga ends well ahead of the anime, which last aired in March 2021 at episode 170. Pierrot's new anime, branded as Black Clover Second Season rather than a continuation of the original episode count, will begin streaming on Crunchyroll in October 2026 and is expected to adapt arcs the anime has yet to cover. Tabata's final manga volume, Volume 38, releases in Japan on August 4, 2026.
