HYBE India’s audition has taken the country by storm as the prospective candidates gear up to perform for the label that created BTS. Recently, on April 7, 2026, HYBE released the dates for its multi-city audition tour in India for its girl group, signaling that the company is ready to enter the country's market with a solid foundation, creating sensation and hype through various formats, including pop-up parks.

HYBE India Auditions 2026: Know About The Places and Dates

Although the online audition drive has already begun from March 31, 2026, the offline HYBE India Auditions schedule spans from May to July, covering key Indian metros alongside select global stops. The offline audition drive will begin from May 3 in Guwahati, followed by Mumbai (May 10), Pune (May 17), Hyderabad (May 24), and Bengaluru (May 31). Then it will expand to Delhi (June 14), Chennai (June 27), Ahmedabad (July 11), Kolkata (July 18), and Chandigarh (July 25). The international legs for the drive will include cities of Toronto, New York, Singapore, Sydney, and London, indicating a hybrid scouting strategy that targets both India’s domestic and diaspora talent pools.

Notably, LE SSERAFIM, the girl group under Source Music, a subsidiary label of HYBE Corporation, has also sent out a message to the participants from India. LE SSERAFIM, which is widely recognized as "HYBE's first girl group," seemingly offers support for another upcoming girl group from another country.

HYBE India Launches Pop-up Parks Ahead of Girl Group Auditions

Apart from the audition program, HYBE is simultaneously launching pop-up parks throughout select cities like Mumbai, Pune, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, and Delhi. Scheduled just ahead of the original audition dates, the pop-up park intends to act as a pre-audition activation that is specifically created to convert passive fandom into active participation. While no specific details about the pop-up park are out yet, it is believed to be a one-day immersive event that will include dance challenges, fan-led activities, and light-touch talent discovery. With this event, HYBE intends to incorporate artist development with fandom, or community building/support.

What Does the Simultaneous Event Placement Tell About HYBE’s India Strategy?

The sequencing of the events is deliberate. By staging pop-up parks immediately before the auditions, HYBE aims to successfully create a funnel that warms up local audiences, while also identifying early-stage performers. Additionally, such a program schedule can also amplify the company’s social media visibility before formal operations and evaluations even begin. This mirrors tactics previously seen in Southeast Asia and North America, where experiential events have doubled as scouting grounds.

India, meanwhile, continues to evolve as a strategic growth market for K-pop. Notably, it is becoming K-pop’s fastest-growing consumption market. According to industry observers, during the pandemic and post-pandemic season, streaming increased worldwide. Also, in the post-pandemic era, after the social restrictions were lifted, the industry also saw additional tour demands from popular artists. That momentum carries till today as various organizations try to expand beyond their original territory.

And, now that fan communities in India are expanding beyond Tier-1 cities, HYBE’s city spread, particularly the inclusion of Guwahati and Kolkata in the east, is expanding. Inclusion of these cities that often get left out depicts an attempt to decentralize talent sourcing beyond usual entertainment hubs like Delhi and Mumbai. Nevertheless, the conversion scale is important to look out for. In essence, the number of audition participants transitioning into HYBE’s notoriously rigorous trainee system will be an important aspect of the drive’s success.

In the end, it looks like HYBE is building a framework that points to a long-term investment plan instead of a one-off talent search; it isn’t just testing India temporarily but is mapping it fully in a broader perspective.
