HYBE India Auditions 2026: Dates, Cities, and How to Apply

HYBE’s India push shifts from fandom growth to talent sourcing, reportedly with a girl group strategy at its core

  • Recent posts from HYBE India announce an audition drive in various Indian cities, including foreign diaspora hubs.
  • According to industry reports, the venture may focus on a girl group project, which would align with the high female participation within India's K-pop fanbase.
  • The development comes as global K-pop agencies focus on India's growing media industry and unexplored talent pool.

India's status in the global music market is shifting dramatically as K-pop titan HYBE establishes a home foothold. Following public confirmation of its planned talent tryouts, the corporation shifted from market intelligence to active execution. This is HYBE's newest endeavor to localize the rigorous K-pop training methodology in a multi-cultural country, ushering in a new age in which Indian talent will be cultivated using the same world-class infrastructure that has created global superstars such as BTS.

The audition drive will begin from March 31, 2026, in cities like Ahmedabad, Delhi, Bengaluru, Chandigarh, Chennai, Mumbai, Pune, Kolkata, Hyderabad, and Guwahati. As for non-resident Indians, they can audition at the London, New York, Singapore, Toronto, and Sydney locations. Details about the same can be found at HYBE India website

Interestingly, HYBE India was previously hiring for the role of Audition & New Artist Marketing Manager at its Mumbai location. While the opening triggered some industry chatter, details of the audition wave were kept tightly under wraps. Nevertheless, the role requires the candidates to possess at least four years of extensive experience in various sectors, highlighting that the audition drive will be an expansive event, picking out only a select few.

Industry Expert’s Insight Fueled HYBE Audition Buzz Even Before the Official Announcement

Before HYBE India's official Instagram confirmation, reports from Sakshma Srivastav, a popular television host, set fans in a frenzy. Srivastav last night stated in a reel that HYBE is planning what may be their biggest audition cycle yet. According to her, the search will take place in numerous Indian cities as well as significant foreign diaspora hubs (which is now confirmed), with a strategic focus on developing a potential new girl group, a plan of action that is consistent with India's female demographic's strong K-pop interest and participation levels. However, as per the recent announcement, nothing explicitly about a girl group is mentioned as of now.

Srivastav's insights sparked the initial craze because of her established track record of access to K-pop culture. She rose to international prominence after a landmark 2021 interview with BTS, in which she interviewed all seven members, RM, Jin, SUGA, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook, in an 18-minute piece. The interview gained popularity for its member-specific depth and a unique Hindi message that resonated globally. Her portfolio, which includes interactions with other well-known artists such as Jackson Wang, ATEEZ, and TXT, has established her as a key link between the Korean industry and the Indian market.

HYBE India Had Earlier Teased of “Something Exciting” on Instagram

Hours after Sakshma's reel went public, HYBE India ended its months-long social media hiatus with a teaser post signaling a significant move. After tempting followers with the promise of “something exciting,” the post also drew a supportive comment from Sakshma, following which the label’s India arm finally launched its much-anticipated audition drive.

The expansion takes place against an environment of rapid sectoral growth. According to PwC, India's media and entertainment business is expected to reach ₹3.65 trillion (~ $38 billion USD) by 2028, with an annual growth rate of 8.3%. This tendency, fueled mostly by digital streaming and a mobile-first youth audience, has drawn a more competitive field. Galaxy Corporation, the agency that represents G-Dragon, is also reportedly considering entering the Indian market, indicating that HYBE is not the only significant K-pop player eyeing the region's vast talent pool and economic potential.

HYBE Expands Talent Pool Globally Alongside India

Internal moves within HYBE further indicate its wider focus on pipeline growth. While the India-specific search gets momentum in the industry, HYBE label ADOR has begun a global audition for a new boy group. This demonstrates the parent company's emphasis on global-scale trainee systems to safeguard its next generation of IP assets.

Global corporations' goals have shifted from audience acquisition to talent localization. If a countrywide audition takes place, it will be a prudent investment in India both as a source of internationally scalable artists and a sustainable commercial growth engine for the global music industry.
