Reported Black Clover Official Guidebook Adds New Manga Chapter

The Black Clover Official Guidebook will include a newly drawn, exclusive 15-page manga chapter by franchise creator Yuki Tabata, according to an X post from @WSJ_manga. The account is an unofficial Shonen Jump news channel that posts updates on the publisher's properties.

According to the post, the chapter will publish alongside Black Clover's final volume, Vol. 38, on Aug. 4, 2026, in Japan. Vol. 38 is confirmed to compile chapter 381 through chapter 392, the finale, for 12 chapters in total.

Neither Shueisha's Shonen Jump nor the Black Clover production committee has formally confirmed the release or contents of the guidebook. In late May, a separate leak account, @xSNxwyy, posted about the guidebook and new manga content for August.

Black Clover Vol. 38 release and what the guidebook may add

Vol. 38 closes Black Clover's 11-year run, with Asta crowned Wizard King. Asta and Yuno's rivalry for that title drove the central story of the fantasy series.

The reported guidebook is said to run more than 250 pages and include a Q&A with Tabata, an encyclopedia covering 250-plus characters, and a guide to 400 spells from the series.

Neither @xSNxwyy nor @WSJ_manga has said anything concrete about the focus of the new 15-page chapter. After the post, online discussion centered on whether the pages will resolve secondary characters and the plot threads fans felt the finale left open.

The guidebook follows a format common to long-running shonen franchises. Naruto has four official data books, and newer series such as Jujutsu Kaisen also have a character guide.

Black Clover's new TV anime has not set a premiere date but is confirmed for 2026. The franchise is also among the series Crunchyroll is spotlighting at Anime Expo 2026, held July 2 to 5 in Los Angeles, with cast and staff featured in a Crunchyroll and Newtype special issue.
