Bleach TYBW The Calamity Gets Expanded Indian Streaming

JioHotstar and Amazon Prime's Anime Times will both carry Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War - The Calamity in India.

11 JUL 2026, 04:02 PM

Highlights

  • Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War – The Calamity premieres on July 25, concluding the long-running adaptation of Tite Kubo’s iconic manga.
  • Indian viewers will be able to watch the final cour on JioHotstar and Anime Times, with a possible Netflix release in India and SE Asia.
  • The expanded streaming availability reflects India’s growing anime market.

Anime fans in India will have many ways to watch Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War – The Calamity, with multiple platforms confirming to stream the series. The move expands the title’s availability in one of anime’s fastest-growing markets ahead of the final cour’s July 25 premiere.

The Calamity is the fourth and final cour of Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War, adapting the closing chapters of Tite Kubo’s manga. The series will debut in Japan on July 25 on TV Tokyo at 11:00 pm JST, with international streaming launching the same day across multiple territories.

Bleach TYBW The Calamity is releasing on Hulu in the U.S. and Disney+ in other international territories.

Where To Watch Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War – The Calamity in India

For the last and final chapter of the long-running Bleach franchise, India is reported to have three streaming homes. Anime Times, the dedicated anime channel inside Amazon Prime Video, announced on June 30 that it will stream TYBW The Calamity as part of its July lineup.

JioHotstar, which has a partnership with Disney+, will also stream the series from July 25, expanding availability for Indian audiences. A July 2 X (formerly Twitter) post by anime news outlet @AnimeSpotlightt/X stated that Netflix will stream the anime across India and SEA regions.

However, the Netflix streaming remains largely unconfirmed. The previous three installations of Bleach TYBW streamed on Netflix in India, starting with the first cour, The Blood Warfare, debuting on the platform in 2022. JioHotstar joined the streaming from the second cour, The Separation, in 2023.

The Calamity’s Expanded Access Reflects India's Growing Anime Market

Adding JioHotstar as a streaming destination for Bleach TYBW The Calamity lowers barriers for Indian anime audiences and strengthens legal access to one of 2026’s biggest anime premieres. Existing JioHotstar subscribers can continue the series without switching apps, while Anime Times gives Amazon Prime subscribers an alternate path.

Having multiple streaming options always results in more visibility, especially in markets where most people cannot opt for multiple streaming options. The move is particularly significant because Bleach has traditionally been split across multiple services in different regions.

As per the GEM Partners' Anime Global White Paper 2026, India already ranks third in anime viewership, with 41% audience penetration. Having both JioHotstar and Amazon Prime as options for Bleach TYBW finale can expand the anime to non-anime watchers as well.

Netflix remains the most sought-after anime streaming platform for the Indian audience, while other platforms like JioHotstar are largely used for Hollywood series and cinema streaming.

The Calamity picks up immediately after Yhwach’s assault on the Soul King, with Ichigo Kurosaki and his allies fighting to stop the adversary from unraveling the Soul Society, the Human World, and Hueco Mundo. Bleach TYBW The Calamity’s limited early screening in the US, which ran from June 25 to 29, surpassed $3.3 million USD at the US Box Office, establishing its franchise pull.

The arc adapts volumes 55 through 74 of Tite Kubo’s manga, closing a manga that Kubo began serializing in Weekly Shonen Jump decades ago. Beyond the anime, Kubo is also involved in Bleach Mirrors High, a new mobile game depicting an original narrative, signaling the publisher’s plan to keep expanding the franchise even as the flagship anime concludes.
