HYBE is officially looking to launch a girl group in the pool of global pop talent. The South Korean entertainment giant opened its application window on March 31, 2026, with a strict deadline till July 31 at 11:59 PM IST. Through this four-month high-profile recruitment drive, HYBE intends to provide a signal to the Indian market that it has now arrived to upscale the industry. The audition includes partnerships with popular companies H&M, Shoppers Stop, Samsung Galaxy, and Nongshim. HYBE India’s audition drive will also have Snapchat as its primary social media partner, with BookMyShow handling ticketing logistics.
HYBE India Girl Group Auditions Eligibility Criteria
HYBE India's girl group audition is firmly defined by an age criteria of 2005 to 2011; however, candidates can showcase something beyond conventional idol skill sets. Although the company is looking for vocalists, rappers, and dancers, it has also expanded its search by inviting applications for modelling, acting, and a generalized "other" category to capture unique talents. HYBE has made it clear in its FAQ section that professional training is not a mandatory aspect for entry, highlighting that they prefer raw potential and passion over polish. Additionally, the company has also encouraged rappers and songwriters to submit original pieces to solidify a distinct creative identity.
HYBE India Auditions 2026: Accessibility and Legal Aspects
While people were earlier concerned about the accessibility of the audition, as India is a big country and traveling to one area from another takes time, an out-and-out offline audition would have been a potentially very unappealing option. Noting such issues, HYBE has rolled out the option of attending auditions both online and offline. Unlike the traditional K-pop trainee selection model, there will be no separate stages, and the online portal will remain open indefinitely for multiple submissions. Reportedly, HYBE India will also accept applications on a rolling basis. However, once a specific application is made, it cannot be modified further, thereby requiring prospective trainees to ensure they put in the correct content before hitting the final button.
Nevertheless, legal eligibility is a critical hurdle for the aspiring candidates. According to HYBE India's audition website, individuals need to be free of any existing contractual obligations with other entertainment agencies, guaranteeing a transparent path for the selected ones to enter into the intensive training module and debut pipeline. As days pass, the initiative stands as a domestic extension of the "K-pop model," that is seeking to combine South Korean production standards with the under-explored artistic variety of India.
