Activision has officially confirmed the dates for Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 beta, and it’s set to take over the gaming world this October. For players around the world, it will be the first opportunity to jump into the next chapter of the iconic Black Ops saga from the celebrated developers at Treyarch and Raven Software, in what promises to be one of the most content-rich betas the franchise has ever delivered.

This isn't just a simple server test; it's a full-blown preview of the next generation of Black Ops. From the return of legendary weapons to a surprising taste of zombies.

Inside the Black Ops 7 Beta

The beta will be broken down into two main waves. The early access period will begin from October 2 to October 5, which will be reserved for players who have pre-ordered the game or have an active Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription.

The second beta launch will open the platform for the main event. “The open beta welcomes everyone on all platforms—PlayStation, Xbox, and PC—for a weekend of cross-play chaos from October 5 to October 8.”

Set in the year 2035 and continuing the saga of David Mason’s JSOC team, the beta promises a deep dive into the game’s multiplayer experience where you can grind up to a level cap of around 30.

Treyarch and Raven are packing this test with a potent mix of new and old. Players will battle it out on maps like "Nexus," a sleek data hub in Singapore, and "Standoff 2035," a futuristic reimagining of the beloved Black Ops 2 classic.

For the latest upgrade, “Treyarch is reaching deep into its classic playbook. The beta will feature the return of two of the most iconic weapons in franchise history: the legendary M8A1 burst rifle and the fan-favorite DSR-50 sniper rifle, both fully customizable in the returning Gunsmith system.”

In a huge surprise for fans, the developers are also including a slice of the beloved co-op Zombies mode. This is a rare opportunity for the community to squad up and get a taste of the new undead horde and gameplay mechanics before the game’s full launch on November 14, signaling a strong commitment from Treyarch to their signature mode.

Even with the immense hype, the veteran player base is already voicing its hopes and concerns online. Based on experiences with past titles, the community is cautiously waiting to see how the developers handle the perennial issue of skill-based matchmaking (SBMM), with many hoping for a system that allows for more casual play.

This beta launch marks a critical milestone, serving not only as a massive fan event but as a crucial tool for the developers. With server stability under intense scrutiny, Treyarch has stated they are actively encouraging player feedback during the test to help fine-tune the final product ahead of its worldwide launch on November 14.

It's the final preparation for one of the biggest gaming launches of the year, so get your squad ready to drop in on October 2.
