Bodycam’s Entry into Fortnite

Indian gaming company Nazara Technologies has confirmed it will introduce Bodycam, the hyper-realistic PC tactical shooter video game, into the Fortnite ecosystem as a dedicated island. The move represents Nazara's first publishing effort on Fortnite and marks a strategic step toward creator-led game experiences.

The new island will launch through Unreal Editor for Fortnite and Unreal Engine 5.3, adapting Bodycam's tactical first-person shooter gameplay for console, PC and mobile audiences. At release, players will gain access to Gun Game and Team Deathmatch modes, with community-created maps scheduled to arrive later.

Nazara has partnered with UEFN creator Virstate and received support from Reissad Studio, the original developer of Bodycam. According to the company, the Fortnite adaptation has been optimized for performance with enhanced lighting, sound and multiplayer balancing designed specifically for Epic Games' platform.

Nazara Chief Executive Nitish Mittersain described the launch as both a milestone for the company and a signal of Fortnite's evolution. "This is a landmark moment not just for Bodycam, but for the future of creator-led gaming and also a first launch for Nazara in Fortnite," he said. "Thanks to UEFN, Fortnite is rapidly becoming the go-to hub where creators, brands and gamers converge. We are proud to bring this notable PC title like Bodycam to the Fortnite ecosystem."

Mr. Mittersain's remarks underline Nazara's goal of positioning itself as a global publisher of intellectual property across emerging platforms.

Context and Industry Significance

Nazara recently reported record of INR 1,624 crore in fiscal 2025, with a 95% year-over-year surge in its latest quarter, signaling strong momentum in its publishing and platform strategy. On the platform side, Fortnite's creator economy distributed $352 million to developers in 2024, with user-made islands accounting for more than one-third of total player time. These figures reflect why bringing Bodycam into Fortnite represents more than just a creative crossover; it's a commercial opportunity rooted in two rapidly scaling ecosystems.

Virstate founders Zakaria and Mahdi explained the partnership's broader vision. "We believe bringing Bodycam to Fortnite as an island will inspire other leading gaming IPs to embrace UEFN," they said. "Our goal is to showcase the platform's limitless potential by delivering one of the most ambitious experiences ever built."

By adapting Bodycam into Fortnite, Nazara isn't only expanding a successful PC title but also demonstrating how UEFN can bridge indie PC games with mass-market, cross-platform accessibility.
