Anime fans in Europe can finally feast like a Saiyan as KFC launches a massive collaboration with the legendary franchise Dragon Ball Z. As of this week, customers in Italy, Spain, Portugal, and several other European regions can purchase exclusive meals inspired by Goku and the Z-Fighters. This limited-time partnership transforms standard menu items into bespoke, character-themed experiences complete with high-resolution artwork on the packaging.
The event, now live, is scheduled to run till January 19, 2026, marking one of the most significant anime-food partnerships.
The collaboration introduces a revamped lineup designed to reflect the distinct personalities of the show’s main characters through specific flavor profiles. The "Goku Menu" highlights the hero's wholesome nature with the Teriyaki Katsu Sando and teriyaki chicken buckets, offering a sweet and savory taste that appeals to everyone.
On the flip side, the "Vegeta Menu" mirrors the Saiyan Prince’s fiery temperament by adding a spicy kick to the teriyaki formula for both the sandwiches and bucket options. Perhaps the most creative addition is to the side's menu with the Dragon Fried Cheese Balls, which are golden, melty bites crafted specifically to resemble the iconic wish-granting Dragon Balls.
Marketing Nostalgia and Global Trends
To ensure the marketing hit the right nostalgia levels, KFC Italia enlisted Claudio Moneta, the official Italian voice actor for Goku, to narrate the campaign. The viral commercial features Moneta delivering his signature "powering up" grunts and a classic "Kamehameha!" voice-over footage of the new fried chicken lineup, proving that "narrating" was less about words and more about pure energy.
Playfully referencing the heroes' famous appetites on social media, the chain posted on TikTok that "Saiyans like our fried chicken too." This energy extends to the physical product, where the custom buckets and burger wrappings have already become instant collector's items for fans.
This partnership is part of a larger global trend of Dragon Ball dominating the lifestyle and fast-food sectors. While this specific promo focuses on the Z era, it follows closely on the heels of Dragon Ball Daima collaborations with McDonald’s in Hong Kong and Malaysia, as well as a "Four-Star" burger event at the French chain Quick.
KFC is no stranger to pop-culture collaborations, having previously teamed up with anime heavy hitters like Demon Slayer and Attack on Titan, as well as the gaming juggernaut Genshin Impact.
The franchise is currently available to stream on Crunchyroll, with a major announcement regarding its future expected at the Dragon Ball Genkidamatsuri event on January 25, 2026. Given this momentum, fans are hopeful that this European promotion is merely the appetizer for a wider global rollout.
