Highlights

  • Netflix is significantly expanding its anime library in April 2026 with a global five-star lineup.
  • One Piece: Elbaf Island Arc and Dorohedoro Season 2 headline the month's major releases.
  • Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 and Wind Breaker join new originals like Dandelion on the platform.

Netflix’s anime library is getting a pretty massive upgrade this April, cementing the streaming platform as a top-tier destination for the medium. According to recent reports from What's on Netflix, the streaming giant is dropping a seriously stacked, five-star lineup globally. Blending high-stakes action, epic shonen adventures, and fresh original dramas, this month's roster brings highly anticipated returning heavyweights alongside brand-new adaptations. If you've been waiting for the next big binge, April is officially gearing up to keep your screens glowing.

Leading the charge on April 1 is the highly anticipated return of Dorohedoro with its second season, streaming simultaneously on Netflix and Crunchyroll. It has been six long years since fans last saw Caiman, the amnesiac, lizard-headed protagonist, as he hunts for his killer in the chaotic, magic-fueled Hole.

The new season is expected to be eleven episodes long. Fans can expect even more of the unhinged fights and dark laughs that earned Season 1 a perfect 100% on Rotten Tomatoes. Also joining the roster in April is Straw Hats, the granddaddy of shonen anime that continues its epic voyage later in the month.

Elbaf Island Arc Brings the Straw Hats to Netflix

The One Piece: Elbaf Island Arc will see a global Netflix release on April 11. Fresh off the intense battles of the Egghead Island storyline, Monkey D. Luffy and his crew are finally heading to the mythical homeland of the Giant Warrior Pirates. The new story arc kicks off on April 5 in Japan, meaning international fans won't have to wait long to catch the massive battles and lore bombs.

This highly anticipated anime drop arrives shortly after Netflix released Season 2 of its live-action adaptation on March 10, further expanding its exclusive grip on the franchise alongside the upcoming ground-up remake produced by WIT Studio, as per Comic Book.

Another anime titan is expanding its reach this month. While Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 has already been streaming for fans on Netflix in India, the sheer mayhem of the Hidden Inventory and Shibuya Incident arcs is finally making its way to Netflix in several other global regions.

Based on Netflix's typical licensing schedule of adding new content around 30 days after an announcement, the critically acclaimed season season is expected to hit these new regions around April 19. Delivering non-stop sorcery, brutal character growth, and fluid animation, its arrival on the streamer comes just as the third season (the Culling Game arc) will wrap up its run on Crunchyroll on March 27.

The Ramparts of Ice & Wind Breaker S2 Add Fresh Drama

For those craving something beyond standard shonen, a collection of new premieres and long-awaited returns are joining the lineup. Dropping on April 2 is The Ramparts of Ice, a stunning original title produced by Studio KAI. Based on Kōcha Agasawa’s popular Shueisha web manga, it centers on Koyuki Hikawa, a socially withdrawn high school student whose quiet life is flipped upside down.

Also arriving in April is Wind Breaker Season 2. Originally aired in 2025, its arrival on Netflix gives new fans the perfect opportunity to catch up on the brawls at Furin High School, where young Haruka Sakura fights to become the strongest student.

Finally, arriving later in the month is Dandelion, marking the grand return of anime legend Hideaki Sorachi, the genius creator behind Gintama. This supernatural coming-of-age story follows two angels in the Send-Off Department who track down earthbound spirits. With short runtimes perfect for quick bingeing, the series promises a heartfelt blend of quiet beauty, Sorachi's signature laugh-out-loud comedy, and raw emotional gut punches.

Following massive early-year drops like the Beastars finale and Steel Ball Run: JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, Netflix is proving it understands exactly what the anime community wants to see in 2026.
