Netflix is removing GTA: San Andreas from its mobile library on Dec. 11, 2025, ending the run of its most-downloaded game to date. The exit is part of a 13-title purge across November and December as the company restructures its gaming catalog ahead of a broader 2025 reboot.
GTA: San Andreas leads all Netflix Games releases with an estimated 57.4M installs, according to Appmagic. It joins other major departures such as Scriptic, which has reached 7.7M installs. The shift continues Netflix’s pattern of sunsetting older releases, following last year’s removal of GTA: Vice City and GTA III, which tallied 9.6M and 4.2M downloads.
Earlier this summer, Netflix removed 22 games, including Hades, Braid, two Golden Idol entries, and the full Monument Valley collection. The latest wave arrives as Netflix moves into its December rollout, following November’s additions such as Red Dead Redemption, WWE 2K, Netflix Puzzled, and several kids' and party games playable on mobile and TV.

Appmagic estimates the total lifetime number of Netflix Games downloads at roughly 396M. After GTA: San Andreas, the next top performers are Squid Game: Unleashed with 28.4M installs, Storyteller with 22.5M, Football Manager Mobile at 14.8M, and Bloons TD 6 at 14.77M.
Netflix Games president, Alain Tascan, recently outlined the service’s long-term focus on four core categories: party, kids, narrative, and mainstream releases. Tascan also discussed building a more social, Fortnite-style experience, stating that Netflix’s 2025 lineup is intended to help the service establish a clearer identity in gaming.
The removals underscore Netflix’s effort to refine its catalogue as it works toward a more focused and sustainable games strategy, while preparing for a stronger slate of mainstream releases next year.
