Highlights

  • Riot Games teams up with Globant in a multi-year deal to upgrade esports technology and fan engagement.
  • Globant to deliver AI, data analytics, and mobile tools for Riot’s esports ecosystems.
  • The partnership aims to personalize global fan experiences and modernize Riot’s live-event infrastructure.

American gaming publisher and developer, Riot Games, Inc., has entered into a strategic partnership with European software development company, Globant S. A., to strengthen the technological foundation of its esports ecosystem. The deal, announced on Nov. 6, names Globant as Riot's new partner for developing mobile platforms and AI-driven fan engagement facilities.

The collaboration will support the company's next-generation audience systems and live-event technology stack for Riot’s popular franchises, such as League of Legends (LoL) and VALORANT. Riot’s Global Head of Esports Partnerships and Business Development, David Mulhall, stated, "Globant shares our commitment to deliver the most resonate and engaging experiences for players and fans around the world."

Riot Games currently runs one of the most popular competitive gaming ecosystems in the world. The goal of the new Globant partnership is to convert that size into more individualized, data-driven audience interaction.

Scope of the Globant and Riot Games Partnership

Globant works across 35 countries to provide technological solutions for media, entertainment, and gaming companies. With global partners like OpenAI, NVIDIA, and AWS, the company will bring advanced AI-powered features for live operations and fan engagement.

Under the agreement, Globant will facilitate AI to streamline data analytics, live operations, and mobile integration within Riot’s esports and broadcasting operations. David Mulhall emphasized that the partnership would allow the developer to focus on creative output while Globant scales the technology infrastructure.

The two businesses will push technological limits to enable teams to provide richer, more customized experiences for millions of players and spectators worldwide. However, both are yet to comment on the financial terms and detailed workflow of the new partnership.

Riot Games’ AI integration deal follows a broader industry trend with publishers seeking partners for AI convergence in esports to streamline live-event production, data management, and audience analytics. Publishers such as Blizzard Entertainment and Ubisoft have similarly partnered with AI-service firms for better engagement.

With Riot managing assets, such as Worlds, Valorant Champions, TFT Open, Riftbound, and animated series Arcane, the partnership with Globant will strengthen its backend infrastructure with AI integration while maintaining creative autonomy.
