Highlights

  • The Los Angeles Dodgers and TOHO will host Godzilla Minus Zero Night during the team’s regular-season home final.
  • Fans attending the event will receive exclusive Godzilla Minus Zero bobbleheads and be treated to a drone show.
  • The collaboration serves as a promotional lead-up to Takashi Yamazaki’s Godzilla Minus Zero sequel release in November.

The Los Angeles Dodgers will close their 2026 regular-season home schedule with Godzilla Minus Zero Night, a promotional event with TOHO, on Sep 24, 2026.  The date will mark the Dodgers’ final match against the San Diego Padres, scheduled at 7:10 pm at Dodger Stadium.

The LA Dodgers x Toho collaboration will serve as a major promotional event ahead of the theatrical release of Takashi Yamazaki’s Godzilla Minus Zero. The sequel to Oscar award-winning Godzilla Minus One will premiere across Japan on Nov 3, followed by its North American debut on Nov 6, 2026.

“This will be the perfect event to cap our 2026 regular season home schedule,” said LA Dodgers’ Senior Vice President of Global Partnerships, Lorenzo Sciarrino, while highlighting the significance of the partnership.

Toho x Dodgers’ Godzilla Minus Zero Night Details

Godzilla Minus Zero Night will be held at UNIQLO Field at Dodger Stadium on the matchday. The first 40K fans entering the stadium will receive an exclusive Godzilla Minus Zero bobblehead (one giveaway per ticket).

The giveaway will be accompanied by a drone show, inspired by Godzilla,  after the game. Toho also confirmed that the Dodgers will organize a series of in-stadium promotional activities that lead-up to Godzilla Minus Zero Night, helping build anticipation for the event.

Keiji Ota, Toho’s senior managing executive officer and Chief Godzilla Officer, framed the tie-up in broader terms, highlighting both brands’ history. He emphasized that both Dodgers and Godzilla “share a powerful legacy of stepping onto the world stage” and predicted the stadium's roar would be “echoing across the globe,” mirroring Godzilla’s spirit and energy.

The comments reflect a broader strategy from both organizations. For the Dodgers, anime and Japanese entertainment partnerships have become a recurring fan engagement tool. For Toho, the collaboration supports its ongoing effort to expand the Godzilla brand while increasing Godzilla Minus Zero’s visibility before its premiere.

The LA Dodgers x Toho collaboration follows the Dodgers’ successful partnership with One Piece, which returned for a second consecutive season in 2026 after debuting in 2025. The 2026 edition on July 2 drew 54,081 fans, the highest recorded paid attendance in a baseball match for 2026.

Apart from the record attendance, Dodgers’ One Piece Night holds special significance for its giveaway, which included an exclusive Luffy promo card in both editions. Those cards’ resell value went up to thousands for PSA and 10-grade cards.

YahooSports reported that the listing for One Piece Luffy cards ranged between $700 and $1.5K, in some cases. On the other hand, a PSA 10 graded card from 2025’s giveaway sold for $5.1K in June 2026.

That track record suggests that the LA Dodgers see Japanese properties as reliable attendance drivers. With that benchmark, whether the Godzilla Minus Zero Night matches One Piece's sellout crowds will become a clearer test of Godzilla’s pull among baseball audiences.
